Acceptable to Recycle:

Containers

  • Glass bottles & jars (food & drink)
    -Rinse & remove lids
  • Aluminum & steel cans (food & drink)
  • Aluminum Baking & Cookie Sheets
  • Plastics —Plastic bottles, jugs & containers
    (Numbers 1 through to 7)

Fibre

  • Papers, newspapers, books, magazines — Bundled up, or in a paper bag
  • Cardboard — Flattened & tied in bundles 24in x 18in x 6in
  • Boxboard — Remove plastic liners from cereal boxes; Flattened and bundled up.

Unacceptable to Recycle:

  • Items that are larger than a blue box
  • Aerosol cans
  • Scrap metal — Tire rims, kitchen sinks, taps, BBQ, mailbox
  • Plastic shopping bags
  • Glass — Drinking glasses, dishes, cups, window glass, mirrors, light bulbs, crystal, pottery, glass pots & pans, make-up jars.
  • Plastic — Dish pails, toys, make-up jars
  • Batteries
  • coat hangers
  • paint cans with residue
  • Paper — Tissues, waxed paper, wrapping paper, foil gift wrap
  • Styrofoam
  • Containers used for motor oils, solvents, caustic chemicals, industrial cleansers, pesticide & herbicide
  • Drinking Boxes
  • Wax filmed milk, juice, cream cartons
  • Waxed, laminated food & oil stained or dirty cardboard
