The Municipality of West Grey would like to inform residents of potential disruptions related to the Canadian Union of Postal Workers strike that was initiated at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024. Delivery of mail to and from the Municipality of West Grey is expected to be significantly delayed and/or stopped completely for the duration of the strike.
The ongoing Canada Post strike does not impact the Municipality's property tax, utility, and other billing due dates. Please note that the Canada Post strike will not be accepted as a reason for missed payments. Residents can sign up for online payments through their banking institution. Visit our payments page for further instructions on our online payment services.
Residents are reminded of the following:
- You are responsible for paying your bills on time, even if you do not receive your bill in the mail.
- If you need your balance owing, contact the Municipality's Finance Department. If you call and get sent to voicemail, please leave a message with your name, phone number, and street address so that staff may return your call.
- The Municipality does not recommend putting your bill payment in the mail. Instead, please use an alternative payment option such as through your bank or financial institution. If you are paying by cash or cheque, you will need to come into the municipal office during regular business hours to pay - do not put cash in the drop box.
The Municipality of West Grey would like to thank everyone for their cooperation and understanding.
