Council Meeting Highlight - November 4, 2025

Council received a delegation from Cobide Engineering Inc. On behalf of Domm Construction Ltd. regarding the proposed reconstruction of Victoria Street in Ayton.

Council received a delegation from Aurora Renewables Inc. regarding the proposed development of a Battery Energy Storage System to be located at 102269 Concession 6, Ayton.

Council received correspondence from the Municipality of Grey Highlands regarding a boundary adjustment request. Council directed the CAO to send a letter to the Municipality of Grey Highlands stating that West Grey does not wish to proceed with a boundary adjustment discussion during this term of Council.

Council received an update on the proposed 11-lot residential development in Ayton. The draft 2026 budget includes $140,000 for Victoria Street Road construction, with no additional funding in the 10-year capital forecast. Staff noted that $90,000 from reserves is allocated for base rehabilitation and $50,000 for repaving. A decision on this report has been deferred to the November 12, 2025, budget meeting.

Council received a staff report regarding an Update on the Proposed Interim Control Bylaw, and directed staff to send correspondence to the County of Grey requesting that the County review its aggregate policies.
