Council Meeting Highlights - February 17, 2026
Council received a delegation from Emily Williamson from the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority regarding the Saugeen Valley water quality system. A range of testing parameters was examined, along with observed trends in ecosystem health, and recommendations were proposed to support the protection of the Saugeen River watershed.
Council received a delegation from Shawn and Paige McDonald regarding road safety concerns near Baseline Road, Concession 9, just off Grey Road 9.
Council received a staff report regarding the 2025 update from the South Grey Chamber of Commerce. In March 2023, the Municipality of West Grey and the South Grey Chamber of Commerce signed a memorandum of understanding, to run for a four-year term, in alignment with the term of Council. The Municipality of West Grey has provided an annual contribution of $10,000 to support regional business promotion, advocacy, and networking services delivered across West Grey, Grey Highlands, Chatsworth, and Southgate.
Council shared information about upcoming community events, including:
- Wing Night hosted by Neustadt Lions Club on February 28, 2026
- Durham Hospital Foundation Slow Pitch Co-Ed Annual Tournament on June 20, 21, 2026
- Police Station Facility walk through on February 28, 2026, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at 355 Honour Drive, Durham
