Council Meeting Highlights - March 17, 2026

Council directed staff to bring forward a bylaw to amend bylaw 37-2006. The proposed zoning bylaw amendment supports the development of a new residential subdivision located at 451 Durham Road West, Durham. West Grey has already constructed much of the infrastructure that relates to the proposed subdivision. The development could include up to 41 residential units, including 14 apartment or cluster townhouse units.

Council directed staff to transfer $42,299.50 from the capital project reserve to the Durham Upper Dam Environmental Assessment budget. West Grey and Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority are working together to complete an environmental assessment on the Durham Upper Dam, which is required to evaluate options for replacement and/or rehabilitation of the existing dam. Phase 1 of the EA was completed in 2023, and an RFP was issued in 2025 for phases 2 and 3, which included a frazil ice mitigation review.
