Council Meeting Highlights - October 22, 2025

Council received a delegation from Friends of Ayton about Proposed Renovations to the Centennial Hall Kitchen. Mary Lou Pfeffer provided an overview of the proposed kitchen renovations and proposed audio/video technology upgrades in the hall.

Council received a delegation from Deb McTavish and Mark Losch regarding a request for a payment plan for Development Charges.

Council received a staff report on 2025 Summer Camp Program review. Council directed staff to forgo facilitating summer camp programming in Municipality of West Grey.

Council authorized the Mayor and Clerk to enter into an amending agreement with the County of Grey to update the 2022 Fire Communications Coordinating Agreement. This amendment reflects the replacement of the Grey County Fire Radio System and network (2022–2023), which was financed by the County of Grey at the request of lower-tier municipalities. The cost of the system is being repaid through annual payments from each lower-tier municipality to Grey County.

Council received a staff report regarding a request for a payment plan for West Grey development charges. Council authorized the Treasurer and Clerk to enter into a payment plan agreement with Deb McTavish for the payment of West Grey development charges, to be made in four equal installments at an interest rate of 1.25% per month.

Council shared information about upcoming community events, including:

  • March of the Minions on October 26, 2025, from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m.
  • Halloween Haunt on October 25, 2025, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.
  • Neustadt Craft Show on November 1, 2025, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
  • Annual Pork ‘n Kraut Supper on November 2, 2025, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.
