Half Load Restrictions in Effect March 1, 2026 for West Grey

Effective March 1, 2026, all municipal roads in West Grey will be under reduced load restrictions of 5 tonnes per axle until April 30, 2026. Depending on road conditions and weather forecasts, the half-load season may be extended if necessary to protect the road network.

Please note that not all roads will have signs posted. The restriction applies to all municipal roads, whether or not signage is present.

Under Section 122 of the Highway Traffic Act, reduced load limits are implemented to protect roads during the spring thaw, when they are most vulnerable to damage. Heavy vehicle loads during this period can significantly compromise municipal roads, especially during wet or thawing conditions.
