Notice of Joint Public Meeting Municipal Boundary Restructuring Proposal

Take notice that the Corporation of the Town of Hanover (Hanover) and the Municipality of West Grey (West Grey) are working together to build communities for the future and grow prosperity in the region.

The municipalities are considering the expansion of the Hanover boundary to encompass the following lots in West Grey in their entirety.

Lots 1 to 10, Concession 3 NDR, Part lots 11 to 13, Concession 2 NDR, Part lots 16 to 19, Concession 1 NDR, Part lots 8 to 11, Concession 1 SDR, Lots 12 to 17, Concession 1 SDR and Lots 9 to 17, Concession 2 SDR, Geographic Township of Bentinck.

The proposed ‘mutual prosperity lands’ highlighted in purple are the lands that are being considered for transfer from West Grey to Hanover in exchange for financial compensation from Hanover to West Grey.

Public Meeting Details:

Date: Wednesday, November 19, 2025 
Time: 6:30 p.m. (formal presentation, followed by comment period)
Location: Elmwood Community Centre (38 Concession Rd 10, Elmwood) and virtually through Zoom (registration required)

To participate in the meeting virtually through Zoom, email communications@grey.ca before 12:00 p.m. noon on Tuesday, November 18.

The meeting will also be streamed virtually on the Grey County YouTube Channel and through www.grey.ca/live-stream. A full recording will be made available following the meeting.

No decisions will be made at the public meeting. The public meeting is an opportunity to learn more about the proposed boundary adjustment and for the public to provide comments and feedback. All interested parties are invited to attend in person or electronically.

Public Comments/Record

Any person may participate in the public meeting and/or make written or oral submissions. All submissions will form part of the public record.

Oral and written comments will be considered at the public meeting. Written comments may be submitted electronically through an online webform at www.grey.ca/boundarycomments.

Anyone wishing to comment on the proposed mutual prosperity boundary adjustment is invited to submit comments no later than November 26, 2025. To ensure that your comments are clearly understood and received prior to Hanover and West Grey making a decision, you are strongly encouraged to submit written comments prior to the public meeting even if you intend to attend the public meeting.
