Temporary Fire Ban in Effect in West Grey

West Grey Fire Service (WGFS) has issued a fire ban on all outdoor and open-air burning, effective Thursday, August 14, 2025, in response to the ongoing dry and hot weather conditions. This ban will remain in effect until further notice. All active burn permits are suspended, and no new permits will be issued until the ban is lifted.

Campfires are permitted if they are contained in a pit, tire rim, or other approved firewood-burning device, provided they are used for cooking or warmth and the fire is no larger than 61 cm (24 inches) in diameter. Barbecues and similar cooking appliances are also permitted. However, WGFS advises residents to stay vigilant and exercise caution at all times.

Further Information will be provided through official channels as it becomes available.
