West Grey Celebrates Outstanding Community Contributors at Annual Civic Recognition Event

West Grey, ON – The Municipality of West Grey proudly honoured individuals and volunteer groups on April 30, 2025, at its annual Civic Recognition event, held during National Volunteer Week. The event celebrated the tireless efforts of those who have made significant contributions to enhancing life in West Grey through dedication, generosity, and community spirit.

Each year, the Civic Honour Roll acknowledges citizens, businesses, and community groups whose actions have positively impacted West Grey. This year, the Council of the Municipality of West Grey is honoured to recognize the 2025 recipients for their outstanding service and commitment to the well-being of the community:

• Durham Food Bank – A group of tireless volunteers who provide essential food support to residents in need and prepare Christmas hampers to bring joy to families and children across the municipality.
  
  
• Neustadt Recreation Volunteer Group – An enthusiastic and dedicated team that organizes and supports vital local programs including the Neustadt Craft Show, pickleball, and roller-skating events, fostering recreation and social connection.
  
  
• Brenda Scott – A passionate advocate for local healthcare, Brenda has been instrumental in community efforts to “Save the Durham Hospital,” amplifying the voices of residents and championing access to vital health services.

“These honourees exemplify the heart and soul of our community,” said Mayor Kevin Eccles. “Their actions reflect the values of compassion, collaboration, and commitment that make West Grey a remarkable place to live.”

Council extends its deepest gratitude to all volunteers in West Grey and encourages residents to consider nominating outstanding individuals or groups for the 2026 Honour Roll.
