Fire Ban Lifted in West Grey
West Grey Fire Service (WGFS) has lifted the temporary fire ban on all outdoor and open-air burning, effective Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
WGFS advises residents to always stay vigilant and exercise caution when burning, as dry conditions and dead grass from the recent dry spell continue to increase the risk of grass fires.
Burn permits are available through the Office of the Fire Chief at 179 George St. West, Durham. Residents are reminded to contact the Fire Department prior to initiating any burning.
