Notice: Ongoing Scrap Tire Collection Delays in Ontario

Notice: Ongoing Scrap Tire Collection Delays in Ontario

Ontario continues to experience disruptions in its scrap tire collection and recycling system under Ontario Regulation 225/18. Commercial tire dealers and collection sites across the province are experiencing ongoing delays in the collection of end-of-life tires.

Commercial tire dealers are encouraged to:
  • Confirm their registration with the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (RPRA).
  • Request re-registration if their site has been de-registered.
  • Complete the Collection Site Information Form if they are experiencing collection delays, storage concerns, service disruptions, or tire backlogs.
Completed forms should be submitted directly to RPRA at registry@rpra.ca.
Please note: The Municipality's landfill site accepts residential tires only, with a maximum of 10 tires per drop-off.

For more information, contact RPRA at 1-833-600-0530 or registry@rpra.ca, or visit the Ontario Tire Dealers Association (OTDA) at www.otda.com.
