Update: Municipality of West Grey State of Emergency

WEST GREY, ON – As part of Council’s advocacy on behalf of the residents of West Grey, the Municipality engaged legal counsel to request a judicial review of South Bruce Grey Health Centre’s decision to remove the 10 in-patient beds from Durham Hospital.

The judicial review occurred on November 13, 2024, before a 3-judge panel. At this point, the Municipality is still awaiting a decision as a result of that hearing and is hopeful for positive news in early January.

The Municipality of West Grey continues in a state of emergency and is meeting regularly to monitor the critical impact that South Bruce Grey Health Centre’s decision to close the hospital has had on healthcare in our community.
