West Grey Celebrates Outstanding Community Contributors at Annual Civic Recognition Event

Durham, ON – The Municipality of West Grey proudly recognizes outstanding individuals and organizations as part of its annual Civic Honour Roll, celebrating those who have made meaningful contributions to the community through dedication, leadership, and volunteerism.

Each year, during National Volunteer Week, the Civic Honour Roll highlights citizens and groups whose efforts strengthen the well-being and quality of life in West Grey. The Council of the Municipality of West Grey is honoured to recognize the 2026 recipients for their exceptional service and commitment:

Durham Hospital Foundation – In recognition of its ongoing efforts to raise funds for the Durham Hospital and Medical Clinic, including a $1.2 million campaign for a new x-ray suite to support accessible, high-quality healthcare in the community.

Jennifer Lang – A dedicated advocate for the Durham Hospital, Jennifer actively engages local businesses, service clubs, and residents to support critical fundraising initiatives that enhance healthcare services in West Grey.

Isobel Morrison – For her continued volunteer contributions to the Durham Hospital Foundation, including behind-the-scenes support and the generous donation of handmade items, making a meaningful impact on both the hospital and the broader community.

“These honourees represent the strength and compassion of our community,” said Mayor Kevin Eccles. “Their commitment to supporting local healthcare and giving back to others helps make West Grey a resilient and caring place to call home.”

Council extends sincere appreciation to all volunteers across West Grey and encourages residents to submit nominations for the 2027 Civic Honour Roll.
