Voting Methods
The Municipality of West Grey will be using internet and telephone voting for the 2026 Municipal Election.
Eligible voters will be able to cast their ballot safely and securely from the comfort of their home, or from anywhere they have access to the internet or a telephone. Voting can be completed using a computer, tablet, smartphone, or touch-tone telephone.
West Grey will use Internet and Telephone Voting, allowing you to vote:
- From home
- From work
- From anywhere with internet access
- By using any touch-tone telephone
This secure system allows you to vote at your convenience during the voting period.
Nominations for Office
Nominations for the 2026 Municipal Election open on Friday, May 1, 2026. Qualified individuals interested in serving on West Grey Council or a School Board may file a nomination with the Clerk until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026.

Candidate information packages will be available on the Municipal website and at the West Grey Municipal Office.
Who Can Vote?
You are eligible to vote in the Municipal Election if you:
Are a Canadian citizen
Are 18 years of age or older
Live in West Grey, or own or rent property in the municipality (or your spouse does)
Are not prohibited from voting under the Municipal Elections Act
You may only vote once in West Grey, even if you own multiple properties.
Voter Information Letter
Prior to the election, eligible voters will receive a Voter Information Letter by mail. This letter will include:
- Your Personal Identification Number (PIN)
- Voting website and telephone number
- Voting dates and times
- Step-by-step instructions
Important: Keep your PIN secure. Do not share it with anyone.
If you do not receive your letter, or if your information is incorrect, contact the Municipality immediately.
How to Vote

Access the voting website or call the phone number listed in your Voter Information Letter.

Enter your PIN and date of birth.

Follow the instructions to make your selections.

Review and confirm your ballot.

Submit your vote.
Once submitted, your vote cannot be changed.
Elections Centre
The voting period for the 2026 municipal and school board election:
- begins on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 10 a.m.; and
- closes on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 8 p.m.
There will be two election centres, as noted in the chart below. Staff will also be attending institutions and retirement homes throughout the voting period.

At election centres, staff are available to support voters by responding to inquiries, updating the voters list, and issuing voter information letters. Individuals may cast their ballots independently or request assistance as needed.
