Curbside Collection
The Municipality of West Grey is committed to providing efficient and sustainable curbside collection services to all residents. Waste Management, the service provider for the Municipality of West Grey, is responsible for regular waste collection across the area. Our recycling collection service, managed by Circular Materials, is designed to help divert waste from landfills and support our commitment to environmental stewardship.
Winter Garbage and Recycling Collection Tips
As winter approaches, please keep these reminders in mind to ensure safe and successful garbage and recycling pickup:
- Place all garbage bags, bins, and recycling carts on a cleared, level surface.
- Do not place items on or behind snowbanks anything on a snowbank will not be collected.
- In built-up areas, please keep all materials off sidewalks and roadways to maintain safe access for everyone.
- Make sure recycling carts are at least 1 metre away from snowbanks, mailboxes, vehicles, and other obstacles so collectors can safely reach them.
Important notice:
The new curbside collection schedule started October 6, 2025.
Please check the pamphlet that came with your new cart to confirm if your collection day has changed.
Waste and recycling are collected on the same day; however, they may be picked up by two different trucks at different times.

Curbside Recycling Collection
Changes to the West Grey Recycling Program
New blue wheeled recycling carts are being delivered by Waste Management. Residents will begin using these carts the week of October 6, 2025, following the new collection schedule.

Small Business Recycling
Businesses in West Grey will receive green carts for recycling. The green colour simply distinguishes them from the residential program; collection and materials remain the same.

Curbside Waste Collection
Your garbage is collected on the same day as recycling under the new schedule. Continue to use clear garbage bags with a West Grey bag tag on each bag.
If your collection was missed, please use our missed collection form to report the issue so it can be resolved quickly. Collection crews have until the end of the day to complete routes recycling and waste may not be collected at the same time. All garbage must be placed in clear bags.
