Northline Glenelg – Bridge 44 Replacement

Project Overview

This project is to replace structure bridge G-044 on the Northline east of Glenelg Road 23. This will include the complete removal of the existing structure and replacing it with a pre-stressed concrete structure.

Scope of Work

The scope of this project includes construction of Precast Rigid Frame Bridge including Helical Piles, Reinforced Concrete Pile Caps, GFRP Reinforcing, Uncoated and Stainless Reinforcing Steel Bar, Bridge Deck, Waterproofing, Concrete Retaining Walls, Concrete Headwalls, Concrete Parapets with Railings, Earth Excavation, Granular Backfill and Base.  The approaches will be paved with Hot Mix Asphalt.

The 2025 budget has been approved and a tender awarded to W. G. Kelly Construction.

Currently, clearing and grubbing are complete.  Removal will begin when in water work is permitted in June with substantial completion scheduled in time for the 2025/2026 winter control season.

When demolition of the existing structure begins in June, there will be no through access to traffic.

The next step will be demolition once in water work is allowed in June.
