Due to challenging winter weather conditions, waste and recycling collection crews were unable to complete all areas on Monday, December 29. Crews are continuing to collect where it is safe to do so today and through the remainder of the week.
At this time, there is no recovery plan announced by Waste Management due to the short week and the volume of material already at the curb.
Zone 1 residents whose items were not collected are asked to bring materials back in and hold them until the next scheduled collection, or dispose of them at a Waste Diversion Site if they choose.
Waste Diversion Site Hours:
Bentinck: Wednesday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and Saturday, January 3 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Durham: Friday, January 2 from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Reminders:
Thursday, January 1 collection will occur on Saturday, January 3.
Carts must be placed on a cleared, level surface at least 1 metre from obstacles (vehicles, mailboxes, posts, or other waste items).
Items must be at the roadside by 7:00 a.m.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as crews work through these conditions safely.
