Hazardous Waste

Hazardous waste is any household item that is labelled corrosive, flammable, poisonous or explosive. These items are often harmful to the environment and should be disposed of safely; they should never be placed in waste or recycling bins.

The mobile household hazardous waste unit rotates every three months between the Durham and Bentinck Landfills. Please see schedule below for location and dates.

When bringing materials please complete the Household Hazardous Waste Resident Form and provide it to the site attendant.

  • Materials will be accepted from West Grey residents only. Residents will be asked for proof of address before they drop off materials.
