- Council received a delegation from Alex Neuman respecting the Durham 150 Splash Park. Council approved the Durham Town Hall Park as the location for the Durham 150th Splashpad and directed staff to allocate up to $100,000 from development charges to the Durham 150th Splashpad project.
- Council received correspondence from the Municipality of Brockton respecting the potential sale of the Saugeen Municipal Airport. Council directed staff to send correspondence to the Municipality of Brockton and Town of Hanover requesting that the Municipalities of Brockton, West Grey and the Town of Hanover meet in February or March 2024 to discuss the future of the airport.
- Council received correspondence from the Multi-Municipal Energy Working Group respecting Battery Energy Storage Systems. Council directed staff to request a delegation by the Multi-Municipal Energy Working Group respecting Battery Energy Storage Systems.
- Council received correspondence from Prince Edward County respecting Guaranteed Livable income. Council directed staff to send a letter of support for the resolution to the Prime Minister of Canada, the Premier of Ontario, the Minister of Children, Community and Social Services, the Leader of the Official Opposition of Ontario, the Leader of the Official Opposition of Canada, and MP and MPP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound.
- Council received correspondence from Powered by Meaford Team respecting the Ontario Pumped Storage Project. Council directed staff to send a letter of support for the Ontario Pumped Storage Project to the Minister of Energy, the Premier of Ontario, and the MPP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound.
- Council directed staff to schedule a special meeting in January 2024 to address the new Official Plan for Durham and Neustadt.
- Council directed staff to enter into an agreement with RSM Building Consultants to provide plans review services for the Municipality of West Grey and bring forward a bylaw to appoint Gerald Moore, RSM Building Consultants, as a deputy chief building official and Barbara Mocny, RSM Building Consultants, as a building inspector.
- Council received an update on the West Grey Police Service property. Council directed staff to enter into an agreement with Cobide Engineering to complete all required reports to apply for a subdivision at 451 Durham Rd. West and directed staff to enter into an agreement with Cobide Engineering to complete all required engineering and tender documents for the proposed infrastructure and road construction at 451 Durham Rd. West.
- Council approved the Salt Management Plan and directed staff to submit the plan to Environment Canada for information purposes.
- Council received the results of the Trails Feedback Survey and directed staff to proceed with entering a Memorandum of Understanding with the Durham Trail Blazers to permit multiple uses on the proposed section of trail in Durham.
- Council approved the request from LiveBarn Livestreaming to install a livestreaming camera and equipment above the Durham Community Centre ice pad for the purpose of livestreaming events hosted by the Grey Bruce Highlanders.
- Council approved the West Grey Strategic Plan 2024 – 2026. The 2024-2026 West Grey Strategic Plan can be viewed on the municipality’s website.
- Council members announced upcoming community events including the Volunteer and Sports Recognition Night at the Durham Community Centre Hall on December 6, 2023; the Durham Tree Lighting on December 7, 2023; the ongoing West Grey Police Service Toy Drive closing on December 15, 2023; and the Durham Christmas Dinner at the Durham Arena on December 25, 2023.
