Council received three delegations:
- +VG Architects provided an update of work completed to date and an overview of the upcoming steps and timelines for the construction of the West Grey Police Station;
- Tom Allwood, Chair, Multi-Municipal Energy Working Group – Battery Energy Storage Systems, provided an overview of the IESO (Independent Electricity Systems Operator) energy storage projects, the corresponding implications and items municipalities should consider related to these storage sites;
- West Grey Minor Lacrosse provided an update on the growth of West Grey lacrosse in the recent years, and requested support for equipment purchases, facility and safety enhancements in Neustadt that would enable the organization to play games as well as hold practice times. Council directed staff to work with West Grey Minor Lacrosse to investigate options to accommodate indoor and field play.
Council approved the 2024 budget. The budget increase of 9.7%, represents an increase of $71.85 per $100,000 property assessment (2016 assessment value). Projects for 2024 include:
- new police station tendering and construction;
- engineering & construction in conjunction with new Rockwood Terrance development in Durham;
- new grader for the Glenelg depot;
- Neustadt water tower refurbishment completion;
- Neustadt Arena ball diamond light fixtures replacement;
- Ayton Library branch accessible doors with ramp; and
- new cameras for council chambers webcasting.
Council announced that the planning is well underway for the 2024 Frazzle Fest event, in collaboration with South Grey Chamber of Commerce, the Durham BIA and community groups across West Grey.

The Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA) conference begins January 21, 2024. West Grey has four delegations with various provincial ministers.
There is a special council meeting January 18, 2024 at 9 a.m. regarding the West Grey Official Plan update. The next regular council meeting is February 6, 2024 at 9 a.m.
