West Grey declares a significant weather event, closes Bentinck landfill

WEST GREY, ON — Due to current and forecasted weather conditions, the Municipality of West Grey has declared a significant weather event.
Crews are out but, given the blizzard conditions, it will take longer to bring roads to optimal condition. Motorists are encouraged to stay home until weather and roads improve.
The Bentinck landfill is also closed today and will reopen on Wednesday, December 28.

WEST GREY, ON — Due to the forecasted weather event, which includes flash freezing, black ice, and blizzard conditions, the municipal office, recreation centres, arenas and all library branches will be closed on Friday December 23, 2022. The municipal office and library will reopen Tuesday January 3, 2023.
The Bentinck and Durham landfills will be closed Friday December 23, 2022 and Saturday December 24, 2022.

Holiday office hours

The West Grey municipal office will be closed from 12 p.m. on Friday, December 23 through Monday, January 3 for the holidays. Our office will reopen at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

West Grey's Infrastructure and Public Works department would like to share these reminders in accordance with the traffic bylaw 133-2004 and any amendments.
