West Grey opens trails, green spaces with physical distancing

WEST GREY, ON— Following provincial guidelines, guidance from Bruce Grey Public Health Unit and in consultation with the municipality’s Emergency Control Group, the Municipality of West Grey will open green spaces and trails this weekend. The public is reminded that there are still several safety precautions to follow, including physical distancing and limiting gatherings to five or less people. Washrooms, play structures and various facilities are still closed.

West Grey fire ban lifted

WEST GREY, ON—The fire ban, issued for the Municipality of West Grey is now lifted.
The West Grey Fire Chief would like to caution people to take care when burning as conditions are still favourable for grass fires, due to the amount of dead grass from winter kill.
Burn Permits are available at the Office of the Fire Chief for the Municipality of West Grey 179 George St. West in Durham.

WEST GREY, ON—The Municipality of West Grey will host a roundtable to provide information on the COVID-19 pandemic and answer questions West Grey residents might have.
West Grey Mayor Christine Robinson, Grey County Warden Paul McQueen, MPP Bill Walker, MP Alex Ruff and Grey Bruce medical officer of health Dr. Ian Arra will participate in this roundtable by providing updates. They will then move to answering submitted questions.

County secures land in Durham for Rockwood rebuild

GREY COUNTY, ON—Grey County is securing 32 acres of land in Durham for the redevelopment and expansion of the Rockwood Terrace long-term care home. Acquiring the land is a significant step forward in the redevelopment project. Currently the provincial target for project completion is 2025.
