Council received a presentation from Elise MacLeod, Water Resources Manager, and Erik Downing, General Manager/Secretary – Treasurer (Acting) of Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority regarding Infrastructure in the Municipality of West Grey. Ms. MacLeod and Mr. Downing advised that Category 1 includes items mandated by the province, and Category 2 consists of services provided on behalf of a municipality.

Notice of intention to amend the fees and charges bylaw respecting building compliance letters fees

Please be advised that the Corporation of the Municipality of West Grey intends to adopt an amendment to fees and charges bylaw 2023-064, in accordance with subsection 391(1) of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25.
The amendment to the fees and charges bylaw will amend Schedule H as follows:
- Amend ‘Compliance letter’ fee from $100.00 each, plus HST to $100.00 each, tax exempt.

Council discussed three reports from the manager, public works:
- West Grey’s drinking water system inspection reports for Durham and Neustadt resulted in a score of 96.3% for Durham and 100% for Neustadt. Durham’s system experienced a minor malfunction which was quickly remedied and had no impact to public safety. Both systems are compliant with provincial legislation.

WEST GREY, ON - West Grey council has appointed Kerri Mighton, West Grey’s director of finance and treasurer, as interim chief administrative officer (CAO) effective February 12, 2024. West Grey’s current CAO, Laura Johnston, has accepted a new position with another municipality.
